About Ornomythology

:groups: Joining the Group

Anyone can join the group, as long as they have an interest in mythological birds. Just click "Join Our Group".


:deviation: Submitting Works

Works that are accepted here feature mythological and created birds.

:bulletgreen: Because we love birds we are picky about wings! Wings do not have to be 100% perfect, but they need to adhere to fundamental bird-wing anatomy. Here are two of the best tutorials on DA: [link] [link]

:bulletgreen: Gryphons are great, but not here. There are gryphon exclusive communities that have plenty of art for your viewing pleasure. (For example, #GryphonArtistsUnited and #GryphonAery.)

:bulletgreen: Your submission needs to be clearly viewable, and of some quality; no overly-blurry, dark, grainy, or webcam-type photos, please! No lined paper or uncropped photos and scans. Scans should be adjusted after scanning and cleaned up. Even cell phones can take decent photos in proper light, and any photo (including photos of drawings) can be sharpened and improved by free, downloadable software made for this purpose, such as GIMP.

:bulletgreen: Please do not submit works in progress (WIPs), this is a collection of finished works.

Due to your overwhelming support I've put in a comment retracting the request to close the group.  I had no idea you all cared so much and if you are fine with this simply acting as a gallery I'd be happy to keep it open!

I haven't heard one way or the other yet on my request to close the group OR my request to retract the closing request.  I'll keep you all updated.

That was my fault >.< I didn't realize it was a "gryph" at first (it's a really awesome and unique design!) then when I did I had to withdraw because we don't allow gryphons in this group since there is so many other groups that cater to them (and we don't want them to overwhelm other mythological birds). Sorry :(

BUT I'm going to request this [link] because it's awesome and wouldn't be me violating my own rules by accident XD
